Environmental education of students in the district Oberbergischer Kreis

A focus of the Oberberg biological station is the environmental education of elementary and middle school students. For this purpose, there are opportunities across the district Oberbergischer Kreis to experience nature. The “Nature Mobile” visits 120 elementary school classes in the Oberberg district every year. There is also an extracurricular learning site on the Schloss Homburg grounds, where middle school classes have the opportunity to experience a diverse program on topics such as “Plant secrets,” “The living network of the forest,” “Water - a precious commodity,” or “The world of the ground.” There is also a similar offer at the base station of the Wipperfürth Wasserquintett. In order to enable as many schools as possible to experience this offer, the Hans Hermann Voss-Stiftung supported the project “Students discover nature and landscape.”
